Otto’s Bicycle Repair & Water Shop began in 2020 with a simple idea: combine the hands-on craftsmanship of bicycle repair with the everyday reliability of quality water systems—all under one family-owned roof. What started as a small hometown shop in Shipshewana has grown into a place where neighbors stop by not just for service, but for conversation, advice, and a friendly face they know they can trust.

From fine-tuning a well-loved bike to installing or servicing a home’s water softener, we pour the same pride and precision into everything we do. Our shop offers new, used, and electric bicycles, accessories, safety gear, and rainwear, along with professional water softener installation and maintenance. What are your rental prices for bicycles and e-bikes?

Bike rentals are priced at $5 per hour. E-bike rentals are priced at $10 per hour.

Are walk-in rentals and repairs allowed, or do I need to book ahead?

While walk-ins are usually welcome, we recommend calling ahead—especially for e-bike rentals or major repair work—to ensure availability and faster service.

How long does a typical bike repair take?

It depends on the issue. Minor adjustments (brakes, gears, tyre-tubes) can often be same-day. More involved repairs or custom work may take a day or more—please call for an estimate.

Can I buy a new bike from the shop? What brands or types do you carry?

Yes — we sell bikes. We carry a selection of new bikes. For specific brands or availability, please call or visit to see current stock.
